Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Escalante (ranked 4997 p4p, 477 weight class) and Dan Kolov (ranked 5378 p4p, 483 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vicente Escalante! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Kolov! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escalante misses with a series of wild punches.
Kolov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Kolov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kolov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Escalante counters with a lovely straight right hand! Escalante scores with a jab to the head.
Kolov gets a double leg takedown into Escalante's guard. Escalante on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Escalante tries to get out of the position. Kolov throws a big right hand that misses. Kolov is looking to work some ground and pound but Escalante has wrist control. Kolov content to stall in guard here. Kolov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kolov landing some decent shots from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escalante trying to keep a closed guard but Kolov is proving a slippery customer.

Escalante is looking to stand up but Kolov isn't so interested in that idea. Escalante working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kolov. Kolov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kolov lands a couple of digs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kolov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Escalante's head. Escalante tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kolov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Escalante keeping moving, preventing Kolov from controlling successfully. Kolov chips away with some ground and pound. Escalante is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kolov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Escalante works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Escalante keeping moving, preventing Kolov from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kolov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Escalante connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kolov scrambles back to his feet. Escalante slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kolov takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kolov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Escalante pinned against the cage. Escalante gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kolov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Escalante defends well and Kolov ends up having to push Escalante into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Vicente Escalante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Kolov. Kolov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Escalante's waist but Escalante gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kolov off to one side. Vicente Escalante is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Escalante lands the left hand. Kolov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Escalante tries to avoid it but Kolov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Escalante to the ground. Escalante escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Escalante drops Kolov with a beautiful combination! Kolov stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Escalante is looking for the KO! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Escalante throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kolov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Escalante tests Kolov's chin there with a solid looking shot. Escalante connects with the punch.
Kolov is rocked! Escalante connects with a stiff jab that staggers Kolov - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Vicente Escalante! Vicente Escalante is the new middleweight champion!
