The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Izquierdo swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
It looked like Izquierdo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Silva's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Silva has closed the distance and engaged Izquierdo in a clinch.
Silva lands a knee to the body.
Izquierdo has Silva pushed against the cage.
Silva swings wildly with an uppercut but Izquierdo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Izquierdo prevents a takedown attempt there.
Izquierdo jumps guard but Silva turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Izquierdo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Silva doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Izquierdo's corner calls for a 1-2. Izquierdo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Izquierdo drops Silva with a straight right hand, right on the button! Izquierdo follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
