Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Distant Thunder (ranked 865 p4p, 55 weight class) and Thad Thayer (ranked 6384 p4p, 254 weight class). Thunder comes to the ring accompanied by Who Set The World On Fire. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Distant Thunder! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Thad Thayer! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Thayer tries to close the distance and clinch but Thunder swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Thayer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Thunder has taken the fight to the clinch.
Thunder decides to pull guard. Thunder looking for a guillotine here but Thayer defends easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Thunder has Thayer pulled in close to control his posture. Thunder throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thunder is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Thunder is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Thayer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Thunder is looking to escape. Thayer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Thunder manages to avoid the submission attempt. Thunder is trying to work for a sweep but Thayer has mounted him! Score +2 for reaching mount: Thunder (0) vs (7) Thayer Thunder sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Thunder has his hands clasped together around Thayer's back. He's all about the action. Thayer trying to pass the guard but Thunder defending well. Thunder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thayer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Thunder has control of Thayer's left arm, preventing Thayer from doing any damage. Thunder keeping moving, preventing Thayer from controlling successfully.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Thunder controlling the position. Thayer wants to control from the top but Thunder keeps moving. Thunder has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Thunder is pulling down on Thayer's head to control his posture.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Thunder's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Thayer wants to control from the top but Thunder keeps moving. Thunder has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thayer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Thunder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thayer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thayer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thunder has his hands on Thayer's head, controlling the position.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Thayer controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Thunder controlling the position. Thunder throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Thayer drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Thayer as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Thunder screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Thayer! Nice submission victory there!
