PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Harden (ranked 3764 p4p, 394 weight class) and Jon Snitch (ranked 2598 p4p, 297 weight class). Snitch comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Wanna Rock kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Harden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harden jabs Snitch right on the nose. Snitch blinks but takes it well.
A looping hook to the body misses from Snitch. Harden does a little dance to reset his feet.
Snitch misses with a takedown attempt - Harden sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Harden just misses with a punch to the body.
Snitch on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Snitch throws an off balance right hand
and Harden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Snitch avoids a punch combination nicely.

Snitch is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Harden's half guard.

Harden has his hands clasped together around Snitch's back. He's all about the action.

Harden is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Snitch is nestled in close to Harden, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Snitch is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snitch wants to pass to mount but Harden is defending the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Snitch perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Snitch wants to free his trapped foot but Harden is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Harden tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Snitch has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Harden is wriggling around trying to escape.

Let's hope that Snitch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Harden tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Snitch working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Harden's thigh. Harden counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Snitch engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That was a close round but I would say that James Harden will probably get the nod.

Snitch shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harden defends it nicely.

Harden gets control of Snitch's arms and successfully pulls guard. Harden will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Jon Snitch has got the better of the ground game so far.
Harden has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Harden is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Still in half guard, Harden seems content to control.

Harden stands up and beckons Snitch to join him on the feet.

OH! Snitch has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Harden smells blood and charges in for the finish! Harden unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Snitch sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Harden!
A relieved looking James Harden thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Jon Snitch had this to say: 'This loss will make me better, I will be back.'.
