The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bento closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

It looks like Lavrentiy Shepkin has been cut.
Bento trying to control the position but instead, Shepkin has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bento into the cage.
Bento is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Shepkin is looking to break free of the clinch but Bento has double underhooks.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bento is looking to pass into half guard but Shepkin pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Shepkin is in guard.

Shepkin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bento for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shepkin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

and Shepkin counters with a crisp one two that drops Bento! Shepkin thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bento to his feet! Bento is in big trouble!

Bento is rocked!
Bento misses with a double jab

and Shepkin shoots in, scooping Bento off his feet. Shepkin is holding his opponent over his shoulder. He slams Bento to the mat and Bento is in big trouble! Shepkin is landing strikes to his unconscious foe and the ref dives in to end the fight! Shepkin is celebrating with his corner and rightfully so.
