Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Souza takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Souza doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Simon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Souza fails with the takedown
and Souza is countered with a crisp right hand from Simon that sends him to the canvas! Simon follows him to the mat into side control.
Souza is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Souza gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Souza is still in real trouble! Can Simon finish him?
Simon working for a guillotine from mount but Souza is in no mood to give up.
Simon scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Simon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Souza can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Simon throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Souza has his hands clasped together but Simon breaks the hold and Souza is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Simon!
