The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malenko scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Dyon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Malenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Malenko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Malenko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dyon is looking to regain half guard here but Malenko keeps moving and retains side control.
Malenko wants to control but Dyon is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
