Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harrison Bergeron (ranked 754 p4p, 94 weight class) and Ivan Ivanov (ranked 1897 p4p, 214 weight class). The key to victory for Harrison Bergeron has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harrison Bergeron!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Ivanov!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bergeron lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bergeron.
Bergeron lands with an overhand left.
Ivanov darts in looking for a takedown but Bergeron gets double underhooks and turns Ivanov into the cage.
Bergeron tests Ivanov's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Ivanov shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Bergeron looking for submissions off his back.
Bergeron really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bergeron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ivanov wants to stand but Bergeron has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Ivanov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bergeron looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Bergeron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bergeron looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Ivanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bergeron. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bergeron actively working from the bottom here.
Ivanov lands with a punch from half guard.
Ivanov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bergeron with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bergeron is trying to maintain the position but Ivanov is very close to passing his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ivanov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Ivanov is just content to waste time from the top position. Bergeron takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Ivanov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bergeron has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ivanov has managed to get both his arms back between Bergeron's legs - danger averted.

Bergeron is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ivanov defends well.

Bergeron escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ivanov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ivanov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Bergeron looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Ivanov is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bergeron has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ivanov is looking to defend but Bergeron has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ivanov! Bergeron pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ivanov taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Harrison Bergeron!
