Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamiah Monlova (ranked 22502 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Slaughter (ranked 2785 p4p, 0 weight class). Monlova comes to the cage accompanied by Erica Kane - Speaker Knockerz. Slaughter comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter - Iron Maiden kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jamiah Monlova has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jamiah Monlova!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Slaughter!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter scores with a punch to the head.


It looks like Jamiah Monlova has been cut.

Monlova gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Slaughter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Monlova is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Slaughter controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slaughter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Monlova can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Slaughter controls the pace.

Slaughter sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Monlova's guard.
Monlova definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Slaughter is pressing down on Monlova's thigh, looking to free his foot. Monlova is holding on for now.
Well, if Slaughter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Monlova is breathing heavily.
Slaughter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Monlova moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Slaughter feints and as Monlova raises his hands in defense, Slaughter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Monlova controls Slaughter momentarily but Slaughter frees himself.
Slaughter looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Let's hope that Slaughter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Slaughter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Monlova gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's time! Monlova's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Monlova throws a sloppy head kick and Slaughter moves out of range easily.

Slaughter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Monlova's guard.
Slaughter stays in close to Monlova's body and controls the position.
Slaughter scoring with some ground and pound.
Slaughter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Slaughter stands and throws Monlova's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Slaughter content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Slaughter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Monlova manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Slaughter controls from within his opponent's guard.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Slaughter.
Slaughter forces his way into half guard.

Slaughter is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Slaughter uses his free foot to push down on Monlova's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Monlova.
Slaughter content just to control the position here.

Max Slaughter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Monlova enables Slaughter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Monlova manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Slaughter is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monlova wants to stand up but Slaughter is controlling him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Slaughter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Slaughter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The adventures of Slaughter the control monster continue. Boring.

Slaughter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Yet more stalling tactics from Slaughter.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Monlova misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Slaughter checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Max Slaughter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
