Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alfredo Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Johhny Mike! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez stuffs the takedown. Mike has his takedown stuffed and Martinez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mike thinking. Martinez looks to land a combination. Mike sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Johhny Mike has been cut. Martinez lands a jab to Mike's midsection. Mike looks winded! Martinez is looking to clinch. Martinez fails with a takedown attempt. Mike moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martinez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mike pulls him back up using the underhooks. Martinez is trying to stall.
Martinez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mike avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alfredo Martinez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mike is looking to take this one to the mat. A bit of stalling here from Mike.
Martinez blocks an elbow strike. Martinez tries to break the clinch but Mike is controlling the position. Mike pulls guard successfully.
Martinez wants to control from the top but Mike keeps moving. Martinez stopping the sweep attempt from Mike. Mike trying to control the position here. Mike throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mike has a closed guard, preventing Martinez from standing up. Mike is controlling Martinez's posture. Martinez throwing strikes from guard but Mike blocks nicely. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Martinez looking to sit in guard and control but Mike gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Martinez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mike on the ground. Martinez is looking to sweep but instead, Mike has passed into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mike seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Martinez tries to get to full guard but Mike has control of the leg. Martinez wants to control but Mike is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nice strikes from Mike there. Martinez wants to get back to full guard but Mike has mounted him! Martinez tries to improve his position but instead Mike has taken his back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mike biding his time, looking for the opening.
Martinez trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Martinez is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Mike keeps control of the position as Martinez tries to break free.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Mike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johhny Mike dominated that round. The cut man is working on Johhny Mike's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mike stuffs the takedown attempt from Martinez. Martinez gets slowly back to his feet. Martinez avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Martinez thinks about countering with a head kick. Martinez shoots in but no luck this time. Martinez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mike misses with a takedown attempt - Martinez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Martinez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mike checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martinez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mike gets a clinch. Martinez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

That's one minute gone in the round. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mike takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. We've been informed that Mike has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Martinez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mike walks away with a smile on his face. Martinez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alfredo Martinez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Martinez has a takedown stuffed. Mike displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Martinez. Mike clinches up against the cage. Martinez tries to pull guard but Mike holds him up against the cage and eventually Martinez drops back down to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Martinez tries to pull guard but Mike forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Martinez tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mike avoids it. Martinez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mike is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Martinez to the mat. Martinez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Mike's corner is telling him to maintain position. Martinez is looking to stand back up but Mike counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Martinez. Mike working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Mike is figuring out what he wants to do next. Martinez wants to control but Mike is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martinez is in trouble now - Mike has advanced to mount! Mike takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mike working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Martinez turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Mike off and cradles Martinez's limp body as Mike celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Johhny Mike!
