PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Koutalianos (ranked 4857 p4p, 177 weight class) and Andrejs Medvedevs (ranked 6137 p4p, 194 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koutalianos stuffs the takedown attempt from Medvedevs. Medvedevs gets slowly back to his feet.

Medvedevs goes for a double leg but Koutalianos avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Koutalianos continues to drive forward.
It looked like Koutalianos was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Medvedevs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Medvedevs tries to pull guard but Koutalianos holds him up against the cage and eventually Medvedevs drops back down to his feet.
We've been informed that Medvedevs has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Medvedevs is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Koutalianos pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Medvedevs jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Koutalianos walks away with a smile on his face. Medvedevs gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Koutalianos works his foot free and advances to mount.

Medvedevs is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bill Koutalianos will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
