PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kaden King (ranked 4655 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georgio Gomez (ranked 6323 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Georgio Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gomez enables King to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gomez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

King keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gomez's head.

Gomez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but King is keeping busy.
Gomez keeps control of King as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

King lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gomez backwards.
King tries to score a body lock takedown but Gomez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kaden King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gomez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. King doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. King manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

King seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gomez for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
King shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gomez eats them both and turns towards King to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kaden King will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


King throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
King feints a jab promting Gomez to slip. King then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gomez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

King shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gomez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gomez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but King can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
