Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yusuke Urameshi (ranked 1225 p4p, 158 weight class) and Neal Diaz (ranked 689 p4p, 89 weight class). Urameshi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Smile Bomb. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Neal Diaz enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yusuke Urameshi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Neal Diaz! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A shot to the liver by Urameshi. Beautiful body shot. Diaz has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Diaz dives in and grabs Urameshi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Urameshi pushes down on Diaz's head and hops out. Urameshi swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Diaz misses with a hook
and Urameshi counters with a nice uppercut. Urameshi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Diaz shoots and misses and Urameshi counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Yusuke Urameshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neal Diaz. Urameshi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Urameshi closes the distance and lands a one-two. A telegraphed right hand from Urameshi misses the target. Diaz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Diaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Urameshi circles away. Urameshi throwing a counter right hand but Diaz manages to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz dives in and scores a takedown into Urameshi's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Urameshi wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Urameshi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Urameshi has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Diaz has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Diaz. Diaz is trying to drag Urameshi to the mat but Urameshi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Urameshi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Diaz lands a right hand. Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown attempt by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Urameshi, which made it look bad. Nice uppercut lands for Urameshi. That snapped Diaz's head back.
Urameshi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Urameshi throws a jab but it's blocked by Diaz.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Urameshi misses with a straight right. A combination from Diaz does no damage. Urameshi misses with the combination.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters circling - Urameshi throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Diaz gets a takedown into half guard. Diaz stalling. Urameshi kicks Diaz off and gets back to his feet. Urameshi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Diaz takes one to the side of the head.
Urameshi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Urameshi throws the left hand but Diaz avoids the punch easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yusuke Urameshi dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Diaz counters with a one-two to the body. Urameshi jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Urameshi jabbing away but nothing is landing. Urameshi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Neal Diaz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Urameshi throws a lazy uppercut
and Diaz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch. Diaz looking to throw knees to the head but Urameshi is blocking nicely.
Urameshi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around? Urameshi working aggressively here.

Let's see if he can advance position further. Urameshi has one foot on Diaz's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fight moves into the clinch position. Urameshi scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Diaz has Urameshi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Urameshi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Diaz fails to pull guard.
Diaz lands on the inside with an uppercut. Urameshi misses with a hook from the clinch. Urameshi tries to break free but Diaz pushes him back against the cage. Urameshi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Urameshi. Urameshi tries to work over Diaz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Diaz landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Nice cross by Urameshi. Neal Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Urameshi misses with an uppercut. Diaz saw that one coming. Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Urameshi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat. Diaz forces Urameshi back against the cage and clinches. Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Urameshi circles away from the clinch attempt and Urameshi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Diaz thinking. Diaz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Urameshi circles away. Urameshi bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Diaz's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Urameshi waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Diaz. Yusuke Urameshi is winning the standup battle so far. Urameshi swats away the attempt to clinch by Diaz. Diaz rushes Urameshi and presses him up against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Urameshi.
Diaz breaks the clinch.
Diaz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Urameshi manages to escape and get back to his feet! Diaz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diaz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Diaz moves out of range of the strikes. Diaz tries to clinch up. Urameshi lands a nice looking body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Urameshi misses with a wild body shot. Urameshi swats away the attempt to clinch by Diaz. A punch combination from Diaz misses. Diaz pushes Urameshi up against the cage in a clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Urameshi. A head punch blocked on the inside by Diaz. Yusuke Urameshi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Urameshi swings wildly with an uppercut but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it. Diaz creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Diaz throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Diaz doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Diaz is leaning against Urameshi and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Urameshi pushes Diaz back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Diaz with a knee to the head.
It looks like Yusuke Urameshi has been cut. Diaz looking to throw knees to the head but Urameshi is blocking nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Yusuke Urameshi showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Urameshi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
