PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Jenkins (ranked 3515 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandor Clegane (ranked 4118 p4p, 0 weight class). Clegane has chosen Gladiator as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sandor Clegane!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clegane avoids a punch combination nicely.
Clegane lands a really nice looking cross but Jenkins seems unphased.
Clegane scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jenkins in his tracks.
Clegane lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jenkins at a distance.
Clegane lands a leg kick that knocks Jenkins off balance momentarily.
Clegane moves out of range of the strikes.
Jenkins lands a jab.
Jenkins misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clegane moves into range and connects with a jab.

Clegane drives through and clinches with Jenkins against the cage.
Jenkins tries to break the clinch but Clegane is controlling the position.
Nice body punch from Clegane - that landed with a thud.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clegane displaying some good clinch control by pressing Jenkins up against the cage.
Clegane lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A knee to the head by Clegane.


It looks like Jack Jenkins has been cut.
Clegane misses with a hook to the ribs.

Jenkins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jenkins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Clegane closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jenkins to the mat! Jenkins manages to get full guard.
Clegane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jenkins definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jenkins is trying to keep Clegane in close.
Clegane controlling from the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Clegane is one step ahead there.
Clegane lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Clegane forces his way into half guard.
Clegane stalling.

Clegane has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Jenkins defend it? Clegane steps over the head and cranks it - Jenkins is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Clegane!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sandor Clegane!
During a confident post fight interview, Sandor Clegane thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
