Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kieran Cronin (ranked 24917 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mehmed Dervisevic (ranked 24776 p4p, 0 weight class). Mehmed Dervisevic told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mehmed Dervisevic! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dervisevic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Cronin did well to prevent Dervisevic getting side control. Dervisevic is trying to control the action in half guard but Cronin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dervisevic is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cronin wants to control but Dervisevic is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cronin is trying to get back to full guard. Cronin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dervisevic pulls his head out easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dervisevic thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dervisevic wants to stand but Cronin has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Cronin keeping control of the position. Cronin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cronin tries to get out of the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dervisevic shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Cronin wants to control but Dervisevic is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dervisevic is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Cronin manages to get to full guard.
Cronin keeping moving, preventing Dervisevic from controlling successfully. Cronin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Cronin seems keen to control Dervisevic's posture.

Dervisevic wants to control from the top but Cronin keeps moving. Cronin trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cronin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Dervisevic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Cronin did well to prevent Dervisevic getting side control. Dervisevic is trying to work for a kimura but Cronin is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cronin tries to roll over but Dervisevic keeps him under control. Nice strikes from Dervisevic there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cronin looks like he's trying to stand up.

Mehmed Dervisevic dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Dervisevic drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cronin is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Dervisevic tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Dervisevic is looking to take a break and control but Cronin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cronin wants to control but Dervisevic postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cronin prevents Dervisevic from moving into mount. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dervisevic wants to control for a moment but Cronin uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Dervisevic is thwarting Cronin's attempts to control the position. Dervisevic throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dervisevic wants to pass to mount but Cronin is defending the position. Dervisevic passes the guard and advances to mount! Dervisevic can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cronin is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cronin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Dervisevic wants to sweep here but Cronin controlling him for the moment. Cronin wants to control from the top but Dervisevic keeps moving. Cronin is pushing down on Dervisevic's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dervisevic is fighting to maintain full guard but Cronin has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cronin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Cronin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dervisevic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cronin is trying to work for a kimura but Dervisevic is defending well.
Cronin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Dervisevic wants to improve his position but Cronin is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dervisevic has hold of Cronin's hands but Cronin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Dervisevic trying to control but Cronin postures up.
Cronin is looking to take a break and control but Dervisevic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cronin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kieran Cronin dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Cronin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dervisevic to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cronin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dervisevic stacks Cronin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dervisevic! Cronin tries to improve position but can't. Cronin manages to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cronin keeping control of the position. Cronin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dervisevic sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cronin defending well though. Dervisevic throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Cronin tries to get to full guard but Dervisevic has control of the leg. Cronin is staying active underneath Dervisevic, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Dervisevic is thwarting Cronin's attempts to control the position. Cronin is looking to improve his position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dervisevic wants to clinch. Cronin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dervisevic to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dervisevic looking to sit in guard and control but Cronin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Dervisevic is trying to control the position but Cronin postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dervisevic avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Los Angeles inform us that Dervisevic has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Cronin lands a couple of digs. Mehmed Dervisevic has got the better of the ground game so far. Dervisevic is trying to keep Cronin in close.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dervisevic is on top in guard.
Dervisevic takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cronin looking for a sweep. Not yet Cronin, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Mehmed Dervisevic comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dervisevic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
