Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcello Mygueel (ranked 4253 p4p, 430 weight class) and Danny Williams (ranked 3647 p4p, 378 weight class). Mygueel comes to the cage accompanied by Wind of Change. Williams is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Iam the KING. Marcello Mygueel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcello Mygueel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Williams! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Mygueel closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Williams did well to prevent Mygueel getting side control. Mygueel wants to work for an arm triangle but Williams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mygueel is thwarting Williams's attempts to control the position. Williams looking for submissions off his back. Mygueel frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Williams is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mygueel has control of Williams's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Williams regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Mygueel goes for an armbar but Williams turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Williams. Williams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Williams stands and steps away. Mygueel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mygueel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mygueel drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Williams manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mygueel has Williams in his guard.

Williams looking to sit in guard and control but Mygueel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mygueel looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mygueel is standing up over Williams. Williams looks to escape but Mygueel dives into side control.

Mygueel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Williams is looking to reverse the position. Mygueel tries for an arm triangle. Mygueel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mygueel tries for an arm triangle. Mygueel keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Williams looking to sit in guard and control but Mygueel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Marcello Mygueel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Williams might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mygueel haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Mygueel pushes down on Williams's leg and manages to get into half guard. Williams trying to hold on to Mygueel's head to control him but Mygueel postures up.

Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mygueel is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mygueel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mygueel is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Williams can do to turn this around? Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mygueel prevents Williams from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcello Mygueel dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Mygueel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Williams counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Mygueel swings around for an armbar but Williams sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mygueel's guard. Williams content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mygueel has locked up a guillotine! Mygueel's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Williams is holding on here and Mygueel must be using up a lot of energy. Williams has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mygueel gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
