Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alan Buckets (ranked 4572 p4p, 449 weight class) and Brian Ortiz (ranked 4625 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckets lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ortiz darts in trying to clinch
and Buckets counters with a stiff right hand.
Buckets shoots in and bounces Ortiz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ortiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buckets. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Buckets's corner is telling him to maintain position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Buckets will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Buckets seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ortiz for as long as he can get away with.
Ortiz is looking to regain half guard here but Buckets keeps moving and retains side control.

Ortiz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Buckets to the mat! Buckets manages to get full guard.
Buckets pulls Ortiz in close to his closed guard and prevents Ortiz from doing any damage or advancing position.
