Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arjen Lucassen (ranked 565 p4p, 86 weight class) and Junkyard Dog (ranked 327 p4p, 49 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arjen Lucassen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junkyard Dog!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucassen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dog has time to react.
Junkyard Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A thudding body kick lands there by Dog!
Dog scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Dog uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lucassen.

Lucassen tries to keep at a distance but Dog has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lucassen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Lucassen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Dog has picked Lucassen up - he's going for a ride! Dog dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Dog working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Dog misses with a takedown attempt - Lucassen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Dog cracks the inside of Lucassen's front leg.
Dog ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lucassen moves away.
Dog lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dog throws an off balance right hand
and Lucassen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dog cracks Lucassen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dog misses with a lunging right hand
and Lucassen counters with a left to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dog doesn't manage to clinch there - Lucassen circles away.
Lucassen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Lucassen misses the shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junkyard Dog dominated that round.

Lucassen throws out a loose jab but Dog uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dog has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dog ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lucassen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dog throws a body shot but no joy.
Dog throws a jab when Lucassen was well out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Lucassen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

and Lucassen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dog finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dog fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lucassen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lucassen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dog comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dog throws a quick inside leg kick.

Dog uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lucassen has time to react.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lucassen takes one to the chin there.
Dog looks to land a left hand but Lucassen moved out of range nicely.

enabling Lucassen to counter with a crisp jab.
Dog lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

A quick step to the side and Lucassen tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Lucassen counters with a nice uppercut.

Dog has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lucassen finds it's way round the side to connect with Dog's head.
Lucassen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dog.
Dog lunges at Lucassen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lucassen's hand.
Lucassen looks to throw the jab but Dog is out of range.
Lucassen looks to land a left hand but Dog moved out of range nicely.
Lucassen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dog lands with a thumping leg kick.
Dog swings for the body but Lucassen moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by Lucassen.
Lucassen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lucassen there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Lucassen counters with a straight right hand.
Dog lands a slapping body shot.
Dog throws a body shot but no joy.
Lucassen appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lucassen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Junkyard Dog seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Dog dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lucassen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dog to score with a decent uppercut.
Lucassen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Dog feints and as Lucassen raises his hands in defense, Dog changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lucassen uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Dog tries to clinch there but Lucassen circles away.
Lucassen lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junkyard Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Lucassen finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Dog will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lucassen throws a quick counter head kick but Dog was just out of range.
Lucassen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dog sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Junkyard Dog comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dog has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
