The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wellwood wants to clinch up but Mad keeps it at a distance.
Mad shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mad was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mad is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wellwood is surviving well by controlling Mad's body position as best he can.
Wellwood is squirming around, avoiding Mad's attempts to control the action.
Mad prevents Wellwood from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mad trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mad scoring with strikes but Wellwood is staying in there.
Wellwood is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Mad locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Wellwood is forced to tap!
