Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Satoru Yoshioka (ranked 350 p4p, 47 weight class) and Ben Smith (ranked 828 p4p, 95 weight class). Smith has chosen Bleached - Hard to Kill as his entrance music. Satoru Yoshioka could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ben Smith's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves into the clinch successfully.
Yoshioka trying to stall but Smith improves his position.
Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Yoshioka takes the fight into the clinch.
Smith slows down the pace here.

Smith looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Yoshioka closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Yoshioka pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Yoshioka tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smith just stands there and leans against the cage.

Smith is continuing to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yoshioka is trying to keep Smith in close.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Yoshioka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Smith is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Satoru Yoshioka will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Smith loads up on a big right hand but Yoshioka slips the punch.

Yoshioka has been working on his balance at Poseidon MMA, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Smith.
Smith forces Yoshioka back against the cage and clinches.
Yoshioka throws an elbow but it misses.
Yoshioka is trying to maintain a safe position but Smith gets an underhook and turns Yoshioka into the cage.
Yoshioka tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Yoshioka jumps into guard, dragging Smith to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Satoru Yoshioka overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Yoshioka has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Yoshioka is looking to cinch up a triangle. Smith throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Yoshioka's body to avoid the submission. Yoshioka has instead reached around Smith's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Yoshioka arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Satoru Yoshioka was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
