Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Bauwe (ranked 4998 p4p, 462 weight class) and Van Der Veer Jr (ranked 6472 p4p, 508 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Der Veer Jr looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Der Veer Jr takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Der Veer Jr walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Bauwe swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Der Veer Jr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bauwe, pushing him back against the cage.

Der Veer Jr is trying to trip Bauwe. He has hold of a leg but Bauwe is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Der Veer Jr persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Der Veer Jr stops Bauwe from standing up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Der Veer Jr is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bauwe will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
