Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Antonio Brown (ranked 2338 p4p, 135 weight class) and Sirus Hughes (ranked 3306 p4p, 184 weight class). Brown comes to the ring accompanied by Michael Jackson- Don't stop til you get enough. Hughes has chosen Devil "Shinedown" as his entrance music. Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? A momentary lapse in concentration from Hughes enables Brown to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hughes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Brown (2) vs (0) Hughes Brown passes easily into side control. Nice work. Score +3 for passing guard: Brown (5) vs (0) Hughes Hughes told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Brown content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes can't do much from the bottom here. Brown tries for a kimura but Hughes is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes is looking to regain half guard here but Brown keeps moving and retains side control. Hughes manages to get back to half guard. Hughes tries to get to full guard but Brown has control of the leg. Brown is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hughes has managed to free his arm - good work. Hughes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brown is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Brown is trying to control the action in half guard but Hughes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Brown looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Hughes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hughes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes being controlled here, momentarily. Hughes looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Brown passes into side control.
Score +3 for passing guard: Brown (8) vs (0) Hughes Brown in side control, just content to control the action for now. Brown thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hughes is not content to let Brown control the position. Hughes wants to control but Brown postures up. Hughes being controlled for a moment. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Hughes looks to move to half guard but instead Brown has passed into mount! Damn! Score +2 for reaching mount: Brown (10) vs (0) Hughes Hughes is trying to reverse the position but instead Brown has taken his back - oops! Score +3 for taking back: Brown (13) vs (0) Hughes Brown has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Hughes is in real trouble here. Brown gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Hughes is tapping out! Brown wins by rear naked choke!
