Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Abdur Rahman Hodges (ranked 2297 p4p, 226 weight class) and Saenchai Sor (ranked 23775 p4p, 463 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdur Rahman Hodges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Saenchai Sor!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Sor misses.
Sor has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hodges.
Hodges throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hodges walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sor checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Sor wants to counter the offense by Hodges and move into the clinch position.
We've been hearing reports that Hodges has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hodges misses with a kick to the body.
Hodges takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sor has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Hodges avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Hodges counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hodges is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sor is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sor has escaped and now he's on top!

Sor would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hodges can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sor controls the pace.

Hodges is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hodges looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Sor has picked Hodges up and slammed him! Hodges can't keep hold of the triangle and Sor manages to pass to side control!
Sor wants to stand but Hodges has his arm trapped.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hodges tries to buck Sor off but Sor is having none of it.

Hodges is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sor pulls his head out easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hodges wants to control but Sor is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hodges is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sor is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A head kick from Hodges lands but Sor takes it in his stride.

Sor buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sor on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hodges. Hodges obviously looking to wear him down.
Sor connects with a crisp jab.
Hodges misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sor.
Hodges throws a head kick that misses.
Sor looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Sor scores with the left hand. Hodges knows he should have avoided that one.
Hodges does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saenchai Sor dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hodges shoots in looking for a takedown but Sor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hodges's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jab, jab by Sor - just one landing.
The fighters circling - Sor throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sor enables Hodges to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sor tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sor can't keep his opponent in guard - Hodges advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hodges throwing shots but Sor is blocking nicely.
Hodges throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sor is refusing to be controlled, as Hodges sits in half guard.
Hodges tries to pass to full mount but Sor defends it.
Sor keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hodges fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sor avoids it really well and circles away.

Sor lands with a slapping head kick.
Hodges dives in and grabs Sor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sor pushes down on Hodges's head and hops out.

Hodges rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sor swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Hodges shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sor as he avoids it easily.
Sor scores with a hook to the body. Hodges takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hodges takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hodges tries to land a leg kick but Sor saw it coming and moves away.
Hodges sets himself, and Sor steps forward looking for the clinch! Hodges avoids it this time.
Hodges uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sor.
Sor scores with a kick to the midsection.
Hodges takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Saenchai Sor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sor fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Sor lands a nice shot that snaps Hodges's head back.
Sor fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hodges attempts a counter takedown but Sor avoids it well and moves away.
Sor throws a jab when Hodges was well out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saenchai Sor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Hodges throws an elbow that misses. Sor uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hodges's guard. Nice move by Sor!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hodges working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hodges has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hodges has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sor has managed to get both his arms back between Hodges's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hodges wants to control but Sor passes easily into half guard.
Hodges has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sor is working away from the top position though.

Sor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Saenchai Sor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sor winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
