Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake VanVactor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Young Rook- Street Fighter kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ben Carson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake VanVactor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Carson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! VanVactor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. VanVactor stands and throws Carson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Carson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked VanVactor off and has taken his back! Carson working for the choke. Carson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with VanVactor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. VanVactor turns into Carson and is now in his guard.
VanVactor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and VanVactor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. VanVactor trying to control the position from guard on top but Carson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. VanVactor controls from within his opponent's guard. Carson has his foot on VanVactor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. VanVactor works his way back into a safe position though. Carson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. VanVactor throws a big right hand that misses.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carson feints and as VanVactor raises his hands in defense, Carson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. VanVactor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
VanVactor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. VanVactor controls Carson momentarily but Carson frees himself. Carson won't allow VanVactor to sweep him here. Carson advances to half guard. VanVactor keeping control of the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. VanVactor trying to control from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. VanVactor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for VanVactor. Carson looking to pass the guard. VanVactor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Carson wants to control from the top but VanVactor keeps moving. VanVactor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Carson wants to stand and escape but instead VanVactor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Carson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Carson looks gassed! Carson being controlled here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. VanVactor has control of Carson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Carson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
VanVactor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! VanVactor swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
