PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Petronijevic (ranked 4061 p4p, 406 weight class) and Dale Holloway (ranked 3933 p4p, 335 weight class). Dale Holloway told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dale Holloway!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holloway shoots for a takedown but Petronijevic saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Petronijevic circles away from the clinch attempt.
Petronijevic appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Petronijevic dives in and scores a takedown into Holloway's guard.
Petronijevic controls from within his opponent's guard.

Holloway working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Petronijevic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Petronijevic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holloway has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Petronijevic is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Holloway.
Petronijevic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Holloway on the ground.
Holloway regains half guard there - taking advantage of Petronijevic's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Holloway is trying to maintain the position but Petronijevic is very close to passing his half guard.

Holloway is looking for a sweep. Petronijevic is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Holloway slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Holloway pushes a forearm under Petronijevic's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Petronijevic is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
