The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elerby misses with the body kick
and De Souza counters with a thumping low kick.
Elerby throws a nice looking combination but De Souza bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Elerby circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from De Souza.
Tim Elerby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Elerby has closed the distance and engaged De Souza in a clinch.
Elerby wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Elerby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
De Souza shoots in for a takedown but Elerby shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Elerby changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Souza jumps guard but Elerby stands there with De Souza around his waist. De Souza gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

De Souza is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if De Souza hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
