PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Claus Haba (ranked 3186 p4p, 181 weight class) and MJ Uybanua (ranked 4103 p4p, 219 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Claus Haba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, MJ Uybanua!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uybanua throws an overhand right that lands on Haba's shoulder, as Haba tries to avoid the shot.
Uybanua throws a hook but Haba blocks it.

Haba moves into the clinch.

Haba gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Uybanua regains guard.
Haba working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Haba landing some decent shots from guard.

Haba thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Haba trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haba content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Haba pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Uybanua is keeping the position for now.
Haba is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Haba drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Uybanua dives on top into guard.

Haba looking for a guillotine here but Uybanua defends easily.

Haba is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Uybanua is aware though and is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Haba has his foot on Uybanua's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Uybanua works his way back into a safe position though.

Haba is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Haba doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Uybanua is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Haba has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Uybanua is looking to defend but Haba has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Uybanua! Haba pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Uybanua taps out and this one is all over!
