Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Meet the Monster by Five Finger Death Punch. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Jones! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Anderson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Anderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one. Anderson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Anderson tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones tries a knee to the head but Anderson blocks it.

Anderson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Anderson off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Anderson on that attempt. Jones tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones. Anderson misses with a takedown and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jones stands up and waves to Anderson to follow him. Anderson is breathing heavily. Jones closes the distance and clinches. Anderson wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones tries to stand and escape but Anderson is controlling the position. Jones wants to pass the guard but Anderson is defending well. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones works his way into side control. Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Anderson to his feet. Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anderson's guard. Jones with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Anderson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Anderson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jones's back instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anderson gets his hands free as Jones looks to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jones has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Jones cracks Anderson with a solid left hand. Anderson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Anderson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Anderson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Anderson has Jones in his guard. Anderson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there. Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Anderson looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Anderson keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones scoring with some ground and pound. Anderson wants to sweep but no luck. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Anderson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jones is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Anderson pulls his head out easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anderson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Anderson is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position. Jones tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Anderson dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jones scoring with strikes but Anderson is staying in there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones prevents Anderson from getting the reversal. Jones looking to control but Anderson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jones cracks Anderson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looking to finish Anderson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Anderson! Jones has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Anderson's face.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Submission of the night perhaps?
