Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ademaro Dos Anjos!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wesley Taurus!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Dos Anjos.
Dos Anjos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Taurus has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A big right from Taurus misses.
Dos Anjos feinted with a counter takedown.
Taurus connects with a jab.

Taurus gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dos Anjos tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Taurus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Taurus throws a leg kick

and Dos Anjos counters with a single leg into guard. Taurus didn't expect that.
Dos Anjos is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Taurus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dos Anjos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dos Anjos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dos Anjos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dos Anjos controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dos Anjos prevents Taurus from getting back to his feet.
Taurus being controlled here, momentarily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dos Anjos cracks the inside of Taurus's front leg.
Taurus's coach down at Core Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Taurus's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Dos Anjos moves into the clinch successfully.
Dos Anjos has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Dos Anjos keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Taurus's efforts to push away.
A frustrated look appears on Taurus's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Taurus breaks from the clinch.
Dos Anjos does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Taurus has managed to clinch.
Taurus is trying to force a seperation but Dos Anjos has the dominant position.
Dos Anjos goes for a takedown in the clinch but Taurus prevents it.
Taurus prevents a body shot from Dos Anjos.
Taurus is trying to force a seperation but Dos Anjos has the dominant position.

Dos Anjos pulls guard effortlessly.

Dos Anjos has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Taurus doesn't defend quickly enough and Dos Anjos has managed to lock this one up! Can Taurus escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dos Anjos on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ademaro Dos Anjos!
