Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Owen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bozo Susec!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owen shoots in looking for a takedown. Susec tries to sprawl out of it but Owen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Susec manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Susec clinches with his opponent.
Owen breaks the clinch.
Nice body kick from Owen.
Susec closes the distance and clinches.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Susec takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Owen tries to pull guard but Susec won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Susec pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Susec fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Owen avoids it really well and circles away.
Susec's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Susec's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Owen clinches up with Susec and pushes him back against the cage.
Susec can't get the takedown.
Owen breaks from the clinch.
Susec doesn't manage to clinch there - Owen circles away.

Susec misses with a body shot.
Owen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Susec.
Owen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Susec was covering up waiting for the punch and Owen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Owen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Susec pulls Owen in close to prevent any damage.
Susec is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Owen frees his head nicely. Oh but Susec has switched to an armbar! Owen is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
