The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryden swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bryden keeps Rage at a distance using the push kick. Bryden connects with a solid leg kick. Bryden avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bryden shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rage as he jumps to the side. Rage tries to clinch but Bryden moves out of range. Rage shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bryden's guard. Bryden wants to stand but Rage is controlling the position. Rage trying to control but Bryden is working from the bottom. Rage is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rage passes Bryden's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Bryden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rage on the ground. Rage is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bryden doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rage. Rage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rage sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Bryden is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rage working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Bryden takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bryden is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Rage wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bryden, who protects the arm well.

He's almost out here... but no, Rage gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rage wants to control but Bryden is keeping him busy. An elbow from Rage crashes against the mat.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bryden shoots and misses and Rage counters with a series of strikes. Bryden will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Rage counters with a one-two to the body. Bryden tries to score with a low kick but Rage moves his leg out of the way. Rage checks a leg kick nicely. Bryden throws a sloppy head kick and Rage moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Georgie Bryden will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Rage counters with a left and a right that stings Bryden. Bryden throws the kick towards the body but Rage avoids it. Bryden rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rage moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
