Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xander Machado (ranked 1921 p4p, 236 weight class) and Buster McDiggle (ranked 1904 p4p, 235 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Machado might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Latin Thugs. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Xander Machado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buster McDiggle! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machado dives in for a single leg takedown but McDiggle sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. McDiggle on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Machado closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Machado lands in his opponent's guard. McDiggle scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Machado misses with a leg kick. It seemed like McDiggle was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Machado throws a body kick that misses and McDiggle counters with a straight right hand. Machado fails with the takedown letting McDiggle counter with a right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Machado misses with a two punch combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. McDiggle with a hook. Machado misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McDiggle now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Machado slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Machado throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McDiggle's waist but McDiggle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Machado off to one side. McDiggle swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xander Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him. Machado shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. McDiggle pulls Machado in close to prevent any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McDiggle is on top in guard.
Machado is pulling down on McDiggle's head. It's preventing any offense from McDiggle, at least for the moment. McDiggle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Machado keeping full guard, as McDiggle tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDiggle trying to control but Machado is working from the bottom. Machado is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McDiggle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. McDiggle wants to pass the guard but Machado is keeping the position. Machado pulls McDiggle in close to prevent any damage. McDiggle won't allow Machado to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McDiggle trying to control the position from guard on top but Machado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McDiggle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Machado works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machado wants to sweep but no luck. Machado has McDiggle pulled in close to control his posture. Machado is trying to control the position but McDiggle postures up. McDiggle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Machado controlling McDiggle's posture. Machado trying to keep a closed guard but McDiggle is proving a slippery customer.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. McDiggle trying to control but Machado is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. McDiggle misses with a straight right. Machado lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Machado avoids the head kick by McDiggle.
Machado swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It seemed like McDiggle was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Buster McDiggle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McDiggle misses with a body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A cross from Machado lands. McDiggle throws an overhand right that lands on Machado's shoulder, as Machado tries to avoid the shot. Machado throws a sloppy head kick and McDiggle moves out of range easily. Machado shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Machado was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Machado has an Americana. McDiggle didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Machado is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Machado hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Xander Machado! A relieved looking Xander Machado thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
