Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Petrov (ranked 1758 p4p, 209 weight class) and Efraim Turban (ranked 1488 p4p, 186 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Peter Petrov has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Peter Petrov seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov misses with a takedown
and Turban counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Petrov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turban sprawls well. Turban wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Petrov gets slowly back to his feet.
Petrov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Turban.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrov tries to clinch but Turban moves away
and Turban counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Turban scores with a shot to the body.
Petrov fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A little jabbing left from Turban on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Turban counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Peter Petrov has been cut.
Efraim Turban is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Petrov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Turban keeping moving, preventing Petrov from controlling successfully.
Turban manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Petrov is trying to drag Turban to the mat but Turban just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Turban's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turban looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Petrov drives through with a takedown into Turban's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Turban is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Petrov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Petrov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Turban trying to control but Petrov flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Petrov is persistently looking for the submission but Turban is defending it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turban wants to get back to his feet.
Turban manages to stand up with Petrov still on his back. Eventually Petrov drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Petrov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Turban fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Petrov on the side of the head.
Oh Petrov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Petrov shoots in looking for a takedown but Turban manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Petrov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Turban makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Turban ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Petrov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Petrov seems to have got his legs back now.
Turban lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Petrov goes down and covers up as Turban starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Efraim Turban!
Efraim Turban is the new lightweight champion!
The defeated Peter Petrov had this to say: 'My opponent deserves all respect, we are the best in the division and everyone else is afraid to fight us. I am grateful for my chance and I will be back stronger than ever'.
