Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Correia (ranked 4390 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Ottaviano (ranked 5283 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Ottaviano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paulo Correia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Ottaviano! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ottaviano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sloppy strikes from Correia. Those never looked like landing. Ottaviano fails to land with a series of punches.
Correia has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ottaviano is trying to push Correia away but Correia has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Correia lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Correia keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ottaviano's efforts to push away. Correia just leaning against Ottaviano, taking a breather. Correia cracks Ottaviano with a nice body shot. Correia has Ottaviano pushed against the cage. Ottaviano working hard to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A short body shot lands from Correia as the two fighters clinch.
Correia definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Correia manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Correia has Ottaviano pushed against the cage. Correia seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Ottaviano tries to break the clinch but Correia is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Correia keeps control of Ottaviano as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Correia lands with a left to the head. Correia works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Nice body punch from Correia - that landed with a thud.

Ottaviano wants to get back to striking at distance but Correia won't allow it.
Correia cracks Ottaviano with a nice body shot. Ottaviano looks winded! Correia misses with a body punch.
A right hook to the body lands for Correia.
Correia will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ottaviano up against the cage. Ottaviano is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Correia presses Ottaviano against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Correia works on Ottaviano's body with a couple of short punches. A right handed body shot lands from Correia.
Correia pushes Ottaviano back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Correia lands a shot to the body. Correia taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Ottaviano is trying to push Correia away but Correia has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Correia lands a left hand.
Correia presses Ottaviano against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A left hand lands to the body for Correia.
Ottaviano is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A right hook to the body lands for Correia.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ottaviano's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Correia lands a body shot. Correia slows down the pace here.
Correia working some nice short punches in the clinch. Correia slowing the pace effectively. Correia stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Correia lands a nice shot to the body. A left hand lands to the body for Correia.

Correia scores with a hook to the body. Correia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Correia lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Carlos Ottaviano has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Correia connects with a combination that backs up Ottaviano into the cage. Correia lands a flurry of punches that gets past Ottaviano's guard. Ottaviano is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Correia bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paulo Correia! A less than humble Paulo Correia misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
