Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto De Mesquites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberts has chosen Ghosts of the Undead as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts tries to clinch up.
Roberts shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts De Mesquites as he jumps to the side.
Roberts shoots in but De Mesquites avoids the takedown attempt easily.

De Mesquites looking to control but Roberts is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
De Mesquites will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

De Mesquites is nestled in close to Roberts, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
De Mesquites fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roberts manages to avoid it.
Jake Roberts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that Ernesto De Mesquites will probably get the nod.

De Mesquites isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Roberts stacks De Mesquites on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Roberts!

Roberts drops back, looking for a kneebar! De Mesquites looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. De Mesquites looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from De Mesquites!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
De Mesquites cracks Roberts with an elbow. That is naaassty.

You can see the frustration on Roberts's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ernesto De Mesquites will probably get the nod.

De Mesquites jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Roberts walks away with a smile on his face. De Mesquites gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Roberts tries to close the distance and clinch but De Mesquites swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Mesquites drops down looking for an ankle pick but Roberts pulls his leg out and moves away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Roberts tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but De Mesquites paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jake Roberts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roberts throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De Mesquites's waist but De Mesquites gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roberts off to one side.
