Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Davey Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Piotr Pavlsinki! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pavlsinki comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Brown is looking to clinch. Pavlsinki is looking for the big counter here. Pavlsinki stuffs the takedown. Brown instigates a clinch. Brown connects with a nasty looking knee right to Pavlsinki's face.
Brown tries to land knees in the clinch but Pavlsinki avoids the damage to the body. Brown drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Brown breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good shot there by Pavlsinki. Brown throws a right hand that Pavlsinki ducks under and follows up with a left that Pavlsinki also avoids with ease. Brown moves into the clinch. Brown pressing his opponent against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pavlsinki managing to block the knees to the body from Brown.
Pavlsinki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pavlsinki throws a right and a left that Brown avoids nicely. Pavlsinki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pavlsinki wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davey Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pavlsinki gets tackled into the cage by Brown. Brown maintains the clinch. Brown slows down the pace here.
Brown is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pavlsinki is defending well for now. Brown jumps guard but Pavlsinki stands there with Brown around his waist. Brown gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pavlsinki lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Brown tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Brown fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pavlsinki manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Brown manages to break the clinch.
Pavlsinki lands a jab to the nose. Pavlsinki misses with a takedown and Brown counters with a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Pavlsinki.
Brown is rocked! Pavlsinki drops Brown with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Brown! Pavlsinki dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Piotr Pavlsinki!
