Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nicolas Bodson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vadim Blood! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blood ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bodson moves away. It looked like Bodson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Blood throws a leg kick but Bodson moved away. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Blood has eaten all the pies! Blood throws a right and a left that both miss. Blood throws an overhand right that lands on Bodson's shoulder, as Bodson tries to avoid the shot. Blood takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Bodson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Blood. Blood obviously looking to wear him down.
Jab from Blood. Blood gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bodson. Bodson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Blood.
Bodson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Bodson tests Blood's chin there with a solid looking shot. Bodson with a hook.
Blood is rocked! Bodson lands a nice hook to Blood's body. Blood takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nicolas Bodson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Blood moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Blood is still on wobbly legs! Can Bodson finish him? Blood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bodson manages to avoid it. Bodson dips to his left and cracks Blood with an uppercut!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bodson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Blood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bodson. Blood seems to have recovered his senses. Bodson throws a shot to the body.
Bodson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Blood sees it coming and avoids it easily. Blood throws a wild combination but nothing lands. It looked like Bodson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Blood. Bodson throws a big shot that misses. A jab from Blood does it's job there. Bodson throws a looping overhand right but Blood ducks down to avoid it. Blood connects with a solid leg kick. Bodson stuns Blood with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. We've been told by Bodson's head coaches at Buoy Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A decent looking cross lands there for Bodson. Bodson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. The fight stays on the outside here - Blood looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Blood pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bodson is out of range and Blood settles back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bodson connects with a body shot. Blood's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Blood duly obliges. Bodson throws a hook to the side of Blood's head but Blood sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Blood has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Blood scores with a body shot.
Bodson looks to score with a jab to the body but Blood is just out of range. Bodson just misses with a punch to the body.
Bodson is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Bodson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Bodson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Bodson throws a jab when Blood was well out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Bodson. Blood does a little dance to reset his feet. A combination from Blood does no damage. Blood lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bodson circles away quickly and effectively. Bodson is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Bodson misses with a wild body shot. Blood lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bodson lands a nice shot that snaps Blood's head back.
Blood gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Bodson gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Blood is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicolas Bodson!
