Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, The Matrix! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Julio Mok! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mok takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Mok gets the takedown into side control. Matrix is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mok has just dragged him back down to the mat. Mok looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mok tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Matrix is pushing Mok's head away, looking to escape. Mok manages to hold on to the position though. Matrix trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Mok is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Matrix is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Matrix is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mok has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Matrix scores with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Matrix is trying to buck Mok off. Mok tries for a kimura but Matrix is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Matrix is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Mok is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Matrix is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Matrix lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Good standup being displayed there by Matrix as he connects with a hook. Matrix throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

The Matrix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mok shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Mok with good strikes from the mount here! Matrix really wants to buck Mok off and get back to his feet. Mok goes for an armbar but Matrix turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Matrix. Mok looking for a sweep. Not yet Mok, not yet. Mok has his foot on Matrix's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matrix works his way back into a safe position though. Matrix gets to his feet - Mok follows without any prompting. Mok tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matrix swivels and escapes. Matrix uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mok has time to react.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matrix stuffs the takedown. Matrix lands a high kick!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Mok - that will leave a mark!
The Matrix is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Matrix stuns Mok with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Mok tries to move into range but Matrix moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Mok misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. The Matrix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Mok. Matrix throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Mok fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Matrix sprawls well initially but Mok persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mok is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Matrix is trying to stand.

A head kick misses from Matrix. Matrix scores with a nice head shot. Matrix pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matrix uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Matrix dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The Matrix is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mok attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Matrix gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mok has gone for a leg lock! Matrix slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mok's guard. Mok working for submissions but it's allowed Matrix to get to half guard.
Matrix stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Mok to get to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matrix throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mok. Matrix digs a good body shot into Mok's ribs. Matrix works Mok's body with a nice hook. Matrix turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Mok walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Matrix scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Matrix throws a head kick that half lands.
Matrix fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Matrix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mok drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Matrix wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matrix bucks up and tries to throw Mok off but instead Mok has got his back! Matrix holding both Mok 's hands and preventing any damage. Julio Mok has got the better of the ground game so far. Mok working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Matrix is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Mok has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Matrix taps out!
