Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joey Bulltier (ranked 5300 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrious Coles (ranked 4788 p4p, 449 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Bulltier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demetrious Coles!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coles drives through and clinches with Bulltier against the cage.
Coles holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Coles is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Coles throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bulltiers head.
Bulltier jumps guard but Coles turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Coles has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bulltier is trying to keep an underhook but Coles manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Coles controlling the pace.
Coles is thwarting Bulltier's attempts to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coles is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Bulltier trying to control from the bottom.
Coles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bulltier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bulltier is trying to get back to full guard.
Coles is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bulltier slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Coles's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Coles closes the distance and clinches.
Bulltier tries for a takedown but Coles manages to get underhooks.

Bulltier wants to stall.

Coles drags the fight down to the ground.
Bulltier trying to control but Coles is working from the bottom.
Coles is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bulltier manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Coles manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bulltier controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bulltier stopping the sweep attempt from Coles.
Coles pulls Bulltier in close to his closed guard and prevents Bulltier from doing any damage or advancing position.

Coles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bulltier manages to get himself to full guard.

Coles trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bulltier's guard.

Bulltier looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Coles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bulltier is keeping the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Coles lands with an uppercut that bounces Bulltier off the cage and back into range.
Bulltier fails to land the takedown.

Coles looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Coles has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bulltier controls Coles momentarily but Coles frees himself.
Coles must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Coles stays in close to Bulltier's body and controls the position.

Coles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bulltier swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Coles is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bulltier looking for a sweep. Not yet Bulltier, not yet.
Coles wants to pass the guard but Bulltier is keeping the position.
Coles slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Coles looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Coles trying to control from half guard but Bulltier is working away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bulltier looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Demetrious Coles has got the better of the ground game so far.
Coles with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bulltier tries to roll over but Coles keeps him under control.
Bulltier trying to hold on to Coles's head to control him but Coles postures up.
Bulltier won't allow Coles to pass to mount.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coles is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Coles is looking to land body kicks.
Bulltier fails with a takedown attempt.
Coles walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bulltier checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Bulltier tries to counter by clinching up but Coles breaks away and moves out of range.
Coles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Coles feints the counter takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Bulltier. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bulltier shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Demetrious Coles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Bulltier dives in and grabs Coles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Coles pushes down on Bulltier's head and hops out.

Coles forces Bulltier back against the cage and clinches.
Coles lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Coles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Coles feints and as Bulltier raises his hands in defense, Coles changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Coles is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Coles trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Bulltier controls Coles momentarily but Coles frees himself.
Coles controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bulltier gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Coles counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Coles gets underhooks to prevent Bulltier's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Bulltier. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Coles is pressed up against the cage. Bulltier has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Coles down to the mat. Coles avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Coles shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Coles was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bulltier tries to improve position but can't.
You can see the frustration on Bulltier's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Coles is staying tight to Bulltier's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Bulltier is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Coles takes a little break here. Bulltier wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Coles tries to advance to mount but Bulltier instead regains half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bulltier is refusing to be controlled, as Coles sits in half guard.
Coles is looking to advance position but Bulltier won't allow it.
Bulltier trying to hold on to Coles's head to control him but Coles postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Horrible takedown attempt by Bulltier or perhaps it was just good defense by Coles, which made it look bad.
Joey Bulltier has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Demetrious Coles is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Coles drives through with a takedown into Bulltier's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Well Coles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
