Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddel (ranked 4819 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rubber McBendy (ranked 4723 p4p, 464 weight class). Rubber McBendy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuck Liddel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rubber McBendy!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBendy moves in looking to clinch but Liddel pushes him off.
As McBendy looks to move away, Liddel throws a big counter combo but McBendy just gets out of the way.
The fighters circling - McBendy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
McBendy misses with a takedown attempt - Liddel sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Liddel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

McBendy is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Liddel works his foot free and advances to mount.
Liddel tries to control but McBendy wriggling away.
McBendy tries to hold on but Liddel pushes him away.

Liddel trying to control but McBendy is having none of it.
Liddel is looking to stand but McBendy has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Liddel tries to close the distance and clinch but McBendy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

McBendy gets a takedown into half guard.
Liddel manages to get to full guard.
Liddel is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Liddel can't keep his opponent in guard - McBendy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Liddel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McBendy is working away from the top position though.

Liddel wants to sweep but McBendy has passed to side control!
McBendy wants to stand but Liddel has his arm trapped.
McBendy postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Liddel tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Liddel gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Liddel wants to hold on but McBendy pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Liddel is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Liddel is just holding on here. McBendy manages to take his back.
McBendy tries to keep control of the position but Liddel is staying busy.

Liddel is having to fend off submission attempts from McBendy, who is looking to sink in the choke. McBendy doesn't have the hooks in though and Liddel manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Liddel will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Liddel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

McBendy wants to sweep here but Liddel controlling him for the moment.
Liddel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McBendy wants to control the position but Liddel says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Liddel is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McBendy can do to turn this around?
Liddel tries to pass to full mount but McBendy defends it.
Liddel lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Liddel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McBendy wants to get back to his feet.
McBendy is trying is best to control the position here.
McBendy is looking for a sweep. Liddel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Liddel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McBendy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Liddel is looking for a kimura but McBendy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Liddel to get the leverage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McBendy regains full guard. Nicely done.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A close second round but Rubber McBendy will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Liddel is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Liddel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

McBendy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Liddel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McBendy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McBendy is trying to control the position but Liddel postures up.

McBendy looking for a guillotine here but Liddel defends easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Liddel lands a couple of elbows.
McBendy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Liddel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Liddel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Liddel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
McBendy is not content to let Liddel control the position.

McBendy is looking to reverse the position.
Liddel prevents McBendy from escaping the position.

Liddel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McBendy is just riding it out for now. Liddel eventually gives up the hold.
