Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Xing Pugberg (ranked 2063 p4p, 113 weight class) and Jose Pacheco (ranked 20473 p4p, 303 weight class). Jose Pacheco told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Xing Pugberg! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 4 losses; Jose Pacheco! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Pacheco fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pugberg closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Pugberg turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pugberg manages to end up in side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Pugberg (4) vs (0) Pacheco Pugberg is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pacheco is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. You can see the frustration on Pacheco's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pacheco is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pugberg wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pacheco, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pacheco can't do much from the bottom here. Pugberg thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pugberg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pacheco keeps working. Pugberg is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pacheco has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pacheco is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Pugberg tries for a kimura but Pacheco is defending well. Pugberg working away. That's four minutes gone in the round. Pugberg goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pacheco turns into him and now he's in Pugberg's guard.

Pacheco trying to control the position from guard on top but Pugberg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pugberg has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pacheco can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pacheco got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pugberg has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pacheco has managed to get both his arms back between Pugberg's legs - danger averted.

Pacheco has gone for a leg lock! Pugberg slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pacheco's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Pugberg (8) vs (2) Pacheco Pugberg drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pacheco manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pugberg has Pacheco in his guard. That's six minutes gone in the round. Pacheco is sitting in close to Pugberg's body. Pugberg has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Pacheco is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Pacheco is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Pugberg.
