Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vasil Petrov (ranked 751 p4p, 110 weight class) and Jhan Jansen (ranked 903 p4p, 128 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vasil Petrov has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vasil Petrov seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jhan Jansen!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Petrov.
Petrov throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Petrov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Petrov throws a hook but Jansen blocks it.
Jansen dives in and grabs Petrov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Petrov pushes down on Jansen's head and hops out.
Petrov thuds his right hand into Jansen's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Jansen is rocked!
Jansen tries to clinch up
and Petrov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Jansen is still on wobbly legs! Can Petrov finish him?
Jansen throws a lazy uppercut
and Petrov counters with a nice body shot.
Jansen seems to have recovered his senses.
Jansen looks winded!
Petrov lands a leg kick that knocks Jansen off balance momentarily.
Petrov lands a brutal uppercut that launches Jansen off his feet! Jansen tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vasil Petrov!
Vasil Petrov is the new welterweight champion!
After the fight, Vasil Petrov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
