Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Mcsnoodle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ash Gibbons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Al Mcsnoodle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ash Gibbons! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibbons tries for a takedown but Mcsnoodle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ash Gibbons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mcsnoodle has managed to clinch.
Mcsnoodle prevents the takedown attempt.
Gibbons manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mcsnoodle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mcsnoodle stopping the sweep attempt from Gibbons. Mcsnoodle drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gibbons looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gibbons looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gibbons! Mcsnoodle tries to buck Gibbons off but Gibbons is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gibbons prevents Mcsnoodle from escaping the position. Gibbons tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gibbons is trying to get an arm triangle but Mcsnoodle is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcsnoodle is trying to control Gibbons's posture but Gibbons avoids it. Gibbons is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcsnoodle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gibbons is trying to get an arm triangle but Mcsnoodle is defending well. Mcsnoodle controls the position for a moment. Mcsnoodle tries to bench press Gibbons off him but Gibbons keeps the position. Gibbons is looking to take a break and control but Mcsnoodle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gibbons is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcsnoodle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gibbons trying to control the position but Mcsnoodle is working away. Gibbons wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mcsnoodle, who protects the arm well. Gibbons looks gassed! Mcsnoodle looking for a sweep but Gibbons has passed into full mount! Oh no! Mcsnoodle keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gibbons has hold of Mcsnoodle's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mcsnoodle manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibbons sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Mcsnoodle is trying desperately to improve position. Mcsnoodle defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gibbons. Gibbons wants to stand but Mcsnoodle is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Mcsnoodle tries to lock up and control but Gibbons gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mcsnoodle tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mcsnoodle wants to hold on but Gibbons pushes him away. Gibbons misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Gibbons wants to finish this one by submission but Mcsnoodle is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gibbons. Gibbons wants to control the pace but Mcsnoodle is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mcsnoodle regains half guard. Gibbons prevents Mcsnoodle from improving his position. Gibbons is looking for a kimura here.
Mcsnoodle lands a couple of sideways elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gibbons is trying to control. Mcsnoodle wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mcsnoodle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gibbons is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ash Gibbons dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice takedown defense from Mcsnoodle. No joy for Gibbons on that attempt. Mcsnoodle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mcsnoodle lands in his opponent's guard. Mcsnoodle won't allow Gibbons to get back to his feet. Gibbons is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gibbons is working an open guard so Mcsnoodle takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Mcsnoodle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gibbons! Gibbons tries to hold on but Mcsnoodle postures up. Gibbons is trying to escape the mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gibbons throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. A nice elbow there by Mcsnoodle. Mcsnoodle looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Gibbons working to try and regain half guard.
Gibbons is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Gibbons tries to reverse the position but Mcsnoodle maintains control. Mcsnoodle can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gibbons is looking to escape. Mcsnoodle throwing strikes here but Gibbons is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gibbons is squirming around, avoiding Mcsnoodle's attempts to control the action. Gibbons slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Gibbons is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcsnoodle's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcsnoodle's back! Mcsnoodle tries to roll but Gibbons sticks to his back.
Gibbons working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Gibbons trying to control. Mcsnoodle is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gibbons gets his way!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibbons struggling to keep hold of the position.
Mcsnoodle fending off the submission attempt from Gibbons. Gibbons working for a choke but Mcsnoodle is defending well. Gibbons biding his time, controlling Mcsnoodle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mcsnoodle is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Mcsnoodle manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gibbons's guard. Nice work there by Mcsnoodle.

Gibbons working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcsnoodle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcsnoodle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mcsnoodle stopping the sweep attempt from Gibbons. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ash Gibbons showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Gibbons dodges the punch combination from Mcsnoodle.
Gibbons shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mcsnoodle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mcsnoodle decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gibbons, up you get! Gibbons misses with a takedown attempt and Mcsnoodle counters by moving into the clinch. Mcsnoodle prevents a takedown attempt there.
Al Mcsnoodle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ash Gibbons. Mcsnoodle has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gibbons is trying to keep an underhook but Mcsnoodle manages to get the takedown into half guard. Gibbons gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mcsnoodle scoring with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcsnoodle postures up in Gibbons's guard and throws a big left but Gibbons blocks it. Gibbons escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcsnoodle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mcsnoodle works a leg free and moves into half guard. Mcsnoodle passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gibbons! Gibbons sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gibbons is staying active underneath Mcsnoodle, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gibbons is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcsnoodle's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcsnoodle's back! Mcsnoodle is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gibbons gets his way!

Mcsnoodle has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gibbons to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mcsnoodle is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gibbons pulls down on the head and he's put Mcsnoodle to sleep! This one is all over!
