9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Brown! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Amin doesn't seem bothered though. Brown shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amin's guard. Amin trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown passes Amin's left leg - he's now in half guard. Amin tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Brown blocks the strikes from Amin.
Brown working Amin over with strikes. My spies in Redfist MMA inform me that Brown has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Brown lands strikes from half guard. Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Amin tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Amin is staying active underneath Brown, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brown connects with a nice short shot to Amin's temple. Brown in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Amin tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Brown!
