Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kody Peters (ranked 7146 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Sardine (ranked 4780 p4p, 456 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kody Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Sardine!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters avoids the head kick by Sardine.
Peters was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Peters darts in looking for a takedown but Sardine gets double underhooks and turns Peters into the cage.

Sardine drives through with a takedown into guard.
Peters thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Peters pulls Sardine in close to his closed guard and prevents Sardine from doing any damage or advancing position.
Peters has a closed guard, preventing Sardine from standing up.
Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peters is pulling down on Sardine's head. It's preventing any offense from Sardine, at least for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Peters fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sardine to the ground. Peters is now in Sardine's guard.

Sardine has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sardine can do anything to dispel that myth.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Sardine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sardine has his foot on Peters's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peters works his way back into a safe position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Peters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sardine tries to avoid it but Peters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sardine to the ground. Sardine escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kody Peters. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Peters drives through and clinches with Sardine against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Sardine pulls Peters in close to prevent any damage.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

No luck for Peters with that takedown attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sardine stands up over Peters, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Sardine advances to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Sardine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Sardine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Peters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sardine manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Peters postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sardine sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peters's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like Sardine is going to stand back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sardine connects with a nice short shot to Peters's temple.

Peters is looking for a sweep. Sardine is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sardine is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Diego Sardine is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Sardine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
