TWGC 27 (145lbs, D3): Finals - Round 3 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Miguel Machin (ranked 4908 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob $tone (ranked 22331 p4p, 0 weight class). Machin's entrance music is Pandora's Music Box. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 5 losses; Miguel Machin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 0 losses; Rob $tone!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
$tone slaps away a takedown attempt from Machin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Machin shoots in for a double leg but $tone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Machin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. $tone tries to avoid it but Machin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag $tone to the ground. $tone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Machin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Machin shoots for a takedown but $tone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Machin moves in looking to clinch but $tone pushes him off.
$tone wants to counter with a clinch but Machin pushes him away.
Machin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around $tone's waist but $tone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Machin off to one side.
Machin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
