PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Murumo Iduna (ranked 3221 p4p, 176 weight class) and Cezik Tezik (ranked 3210 p4p, 174 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iduna has a takedown stuffed.

Tezik scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Iduna managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Tezik.
Tezik has control of an arm but Iduna manages to advance to Tezik's back!
Tezik tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Iduna wants to control the action but instead Tezik gets a body lock and reverses into Iduna's guard! Nice work!
Tezik has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tezik is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Tezik is pushing down on Iduna's leg trying to pass to half guard. Iduna is fighting to maintain full guard but Tezik has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tezik connects with a nice short shot to Iduna's temple.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tezik stops Iduna from getting back to his feet.
Iduna knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tezik on the ground.

Tezik postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Iduna to stand up.
Iduna shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tezik as he jumps to the side.
Iduna fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Murumo Iduna. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Iduna shoots in looking for a takedown but Tezik manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Iduna's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tezik throws the kick towards the body but Iduna avoids it.

Iduna looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Tezik manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Iduna keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Iduna can't get the takedown.

Iduna breaks from the clinch.

Tezik bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Iduna wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Tezik has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Iduna's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Iduna is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Tezik!
