Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cajetan Shashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Weeks!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weeks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shashi sprawls well. Shashi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Weeks gets slowly back to his feet.
Weeks shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Weeks is defended easily by Shashi.
Cajetan Shashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Weeks.

A jab-cross combination lands for Shashi and sends Weeks crashing to the mat! Shashi follows him down to the mat - Weeks regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


It looks like Darren Weeks has been cut.
Shashi wants to take a breather but Weeks is having none of it.
Shashi uses his free foot to push down on Weeks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Weeks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shashi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Weeks is surviving well by controlling Shashi's body position as best he can.
Shashi throws some wild stikes that Weeks manages to avoid easily.

Shashi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Weeks has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Weeks holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Shashi tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Shashi is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Weeks is in real trouble.

Weeks rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Shashi not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Shashi is looking for a kimura but Weeks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shashi to get the leverage.

Shashi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Weeks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shashi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Weeks looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
