The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petiot scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Petiot is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Robson Kanu has escaped the position, nice work there.

Petiot decides to stand back up. Petiot steps back and let's Robson Kanu get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petiot fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Robson Kanu, pushing him back against the cage.

Petiot lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Robson Kanu backwards.
Petiot tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Petiot breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Robson Kanu tries to bum rush Petiot with a series of wild strikes but Petiot uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Robson Kanu is still on wobbly legs! Can Petiot finish him?
Robson Kanu drops his hands momentarily. Petiot doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Robson Kanu staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Robson Kanu doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marcel Petiot!
After winning the bout, Marcel Petiot thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
