Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Cassavant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cassavant comes to the cage accompanied by Bloodline by Slayer. Carter has chosen Run this Town as his entrance music. Shawn Carter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Carter misses the target.

Cassavant tries to clinch but Carter is having none of it.
Cassavant tries to close the distance and clinch but Carter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cassavant.
Carter misses with a few strikes there.
Carter connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Carter moves out of range of the body kick from Cassavant.
Carter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cassavant sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Carter feints and then cracks Cassavant's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cassavant down.
Shawn Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter closes the distance and lands a one-two.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cassavant takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Cassavant is rocked!

Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cassavant slips a straight right by Carter.
Carter throws the left hand but Cassavant avoids the punch easily.

Carter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carter swats away the attempt to clinch by Cassavant.
Cassavant drives through and clinches with Carter against the cage.
Carter is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carter swings wildly with an uppercut but Cassavant uses good head movement to avoid it.
Carter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cassavant wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.

Oh Cassavant is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cassavant darts in and clinches Carter up against the cage.

Cassavant moves forwards but Carter connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Cassavant tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cassavant looks for the body kick but Carter saw that one coming.

and Carter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carter connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Cassavant is looking to clinch.
Carter slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Carter scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cassavant in his tracks.
Cassavant tries to clinch but Carter is having none of it.
Cassavant checks the leg kick nicely there.
Carter misses the jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carter Rushes Cassavant and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Cassavant is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Carter Piles on the pressure and Cassavant crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
